Dell’s iSCSI Storage Arrays

Another milestone in storing devices has been achieved with Dell’s announcement of iSCSI storage arrays. The target has been defined to keep focus at small and medium sized enterprise customers. These storage arrays provide remote access mechanism through which the users will be in position to back up their important data easily without being at the site.

iSCSI Storage Area Network arrays increases the capacity of previously launched products and integrated data-protection tools thrice for VMware virtual server environments. It is said to equip user with enterprise-class featured contained in higher-end PS-series arrays. These features are provisioned through EqualiLogic PS4000 series to its SMBs. The enhanced functionality is intended to refine the technical aspects of Datacenters functionality. The implications include the linkage of the deployed systems while the remote data replication process takes place. The three basic models of arrays include PS4000E, PS4000X, and PS4000XV.

PowerVault3000 server running on NX3000 array, will share files between users of different platforms i.e. Linux and windows. This enables the conversion of a EqualLogic storage array machine into Network Attached Storage Array.

Sophisticated Multi-Path Input Output functionality in vSphere 4.0 can be implemented on DeLL EqualLogic PS4000 series. This offers balance of load storage requests between the DeLL EqualLogic PS Series Storage Area Network Arrays and virtual machine host.

Keeping in view its compatibility, EqualLogic PS4000 Series can be integrated on existing PS series array, and this flexibility dictates the integration of other storage arrays as well.
