How to use a 6 volt battery?

A 6-volt battery is a necessity for camping and science projects. It is used in camp lanterns and heavy-duty flashlights. The 6-volt battery has a unique design in that it comes with a two terminals on the top of the cell. Replace the 6-volt battery can be inserted in a device such as a camp lantern by removing the battery compartment and changing the old battery. Make sure to note the terminal polarity of the compartment. Slip in the new battery into the battery compartment as per the positive and negative terminals and securely seal the compartment.

Connect the electrical devices to 6-volt battery by using a 1/2 inch insulation tape from the positive and negative wires running off the device such as an electric motor, radio, or a camp lantern. Insulate the positive wire around the positive battery terminal and tighten the post. Similarly insulate the wire that connects the negative terminal to the negative post. The battery is now ready to be used for operating any electric or electronic devices. The 6-volt batteries are used in cordless power tools such as an electric screwdriver or a driller. The battery compartment is normally located in the handle of the tool. Depending on the brand of the power tool the battery compartment can be accessed by twisting the handle of the tool counter-clockwise or unscrewing the battery cover. Thus, 6-volt batteries can be inserted into the compartment and are ready to use.
